I moved to Darla and Dave's farm the summer of 2010. After waiting several years, I finally got my chance to hunt this great piece of property. After getting off of a night shift, I came home and made a quick breakfast. I hurried out to the SW corner of the farm and got into my stand at 10:00. After about 15 minutes I saw this buck ~100 yards away on the neighbor's land. I grabbed my rattling antlers and crashed them together. He immediately started running towards me. He came in snorting, kicking leaves/dirt, hair standing up and was running back and forth looking for a fight. I grunted and he started coming right at me. I drew back when he was 30 yards out and coming at me fast. I grunted with my mouth several times in an attempt to stop him each time getting louder and louder. he finally stopped directly below my stand. I leaned over and shot straight down. My arrow entered dead center between the shoulder blades and entered the heart. I literally had to step over him as I got down from my stand. What an adrenaline rush!
